Funding has been allocated to the school to provide additional tutoring for the following:

·         students with low prior attainment, meaning those who did not have a GCSE grade 4 or above in English and/or maths at age 16

·         students from the 27% most economically deprived areas of the country based on the index of multiple deprivation

Identification of students requiring support:

Using early assessment data and on-going internal assessment we will identify students who would benefit from support in the following categories:

Students who have not achieved a grade 4 GCSE or above in English and/or Maths

Students identified as disadvantaged who would benefit from additional academic support

Students identified for support will be recorded via the School Census as required in the conditions of funding.

For each identified student we will record and monitor the following information:

  • Identified student needs
  • Hours of tuition provided
  • Courses for which tuition has been provided

Funded Activities:

  • We will use the funding to provide some small group tuition and some one-to-one tuition based on the identified need of the student
  • Students will be provided with tuition to support them in securing GCSE English and/or Maths at Grade 4 and above
  • Students who are underperforming on particular post-16 courses will be provided with additional tuition in identified A-Level and/or Vocational Courses
