Welcome to the Cedars Academy! We are part of the Lionheart Academies Trust, a Leicestershire-based Multi Academies Trust steeped in traditions of academic excellence and holistic development. We are extremely proud of the high standards and aspirations of our young people which, coupled with inspirational teaching, means pupils show a positive attitude to their learning. Through working hard and aspiring to excellence, we achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils. It is these high standards that have placed the Cedars Academy in the top third of schools in Leicestershire for Progress 8.
We want every pupil to aspire to excellence. We recognise that our aspirational learners need opportunities to progress. Whether this be through inspirational teaching of the GCSE and A-level curriculum, or through working closely with our STEM partners on programmes which place a strong emphasis on exploring STEM career routes. We also work with the Brilliant Club, offering our most able pupils the opportunity to study with a University to complete a thesis, designed to inspire and prepare pupils to apply for prestigious universities. It is these high standards which lead to attainment in all areas.
At the Cedars Academy, we seek to remove any barriers to attainment. Inspirational teaching allows students to make progress in their learning, whilst our high standards ensure pupils achieve the best possible outcomes and success. We are ambitious and aspirational for our staff and pupils; we believe that by working hard and aspiring to excellence in all that we do, each and every pupil will succeed
We are committed to exacting high standards, raising attainment and demanding creative excellence from our staff and pupils. At the Cedars Academy we are driven to ensure pupil success is at the core of all our work. We provide a vibrant and engaging curriculum which promotes the love of learning, and prepares young people for the next steps in their lives. We are a driven institution where pupils’ success lies at the core of all planning. We are aspirational, bold and ambitious for pupils’ futures.
At the Cedars Academy, our mission is for pupils, regardless of their backgrounds, to make outstanding progress. We are committed to exacting high standards, raising attainment and demanding creative excellence. Moreover, inspirational teaching, coupled with vibrant and exciting extra-curricular opportunities, ensures our pupils aspire to excellence in all that they do. These key values put pupil success at the core of our work.

We offer our students a range of enrichment opportunities to complement their academic studies; developing personal qualities, aptitudes and new life skills are all a fundamental part of education at Cedars Martin.
Enrichment opportunities include:
A number of our students take the opportunity to pursue their own personal study during Post 16 and gain an additional qualification. They research a question, produce a report and then give a presentation to a panel. The EPQ is led by an English teacher who specialises in research and literature.
We offer our students the opportunity to support younger students with their maths and literacy skills during tutor time. There are also opportunities for students to support children in our feeder primary schools in developing their maths and literacy skills.
We actively encourage our students to complete the National Citizen Service programme and work with NCS to run bespoke programmes in term time for our Post 16 learners.
Students can take part in several societies such as, Musical Theatre, Chess Club and Debating Club. Students also have the ability, with the help of our Student Support Centre, to create societies that they and their peers would like to take part in.
We offer an international opportunity for students to work in our partner school in Ghana. This invaluable life changing expedition provides students with the chance to develop as inspirational young leaders and to inform their choices beyond Post-16.
The build-up phase and expedition enables students to develop valuable life skills as they serve our partner school through charity work, project management and the promotion of literacy. Local Ghanaian people believe that learning is key to overcoming poverty and our students will be vital in realising this vision. Students also become part of the local community where they will be able to share knowledge of language, culture, religion, music, family values and local cuisine. Students also experience highlights such as a sun-rise safari.
