An Educational Journey to Krakow

At the end of February, several of our sixth form students enjoyed an eye-opening four-day trip to Krakow in Poland.

Accompanied by Year 12 and 13 students from Beauchamp College and Beauchamp City Sixth Form, the experience formed part of their History topic, which concentrates on Nazi Germany and the significant historical impact of the Holocaust.

As part of the trip, students were able to visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Camp, where they saw first-hand the harrowing remnants of the Holocaust. They also toured Schindler's Factory and the Galicia Jewish Museum. Here, they met a Holocaust survivor, who shared her family’s story from 1941 onwards. Providing a deeply personal perspective on the historical event, this encounter made the experience even more impactful and memorable for students.

In their downtime, the cohort was able to tour the iconic landmarks of Krakow’s Old Town and visited the local wax museum.

This trip provided students with a deeper understanding of the Holocaust, directly supporting their History work on Nazi Germany and enhancing their overall learning.
