GCSE Results Day 2024

In the key core subjects – English and Mathematics – nearly half of the cohort achieved grades ranging from 9-5, while 67.6% of pupils acquired grades 9-4.

52.7% of pupils achieved an average grade of 9-5 – this was 9.3% higher than the regional average – with 31 scoring a 5 or above in all the subjects they undertook.

Teachers were especially proud of those who studied science, statistics and sport, all of whom achieved exceptional results.

There were also a host of individual success stories, with 17 pupils achieving an average grade of 7 or higher. Among these were Shiv (who achieved seven 9s, two 7s and a 6), Milan (who collected five 9s, four 8s and a 6) and Lukas (who acquired five 9s, four 8s and a 5).

On the results, Associate Principal James Rolfe, said: “We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 cohort, class of 2024.

“This set of GCSE results is a testament to the hard work put in by pupils and teachers over the last five years. And, in amongst the positive headline figures, there are some exceptional individual sets of results.”

We look forward to welcoming many pupils to Cedars Martin Sixth Form in the new academic year, where they will continue their educational journey with us. We also wish the very best to those who will be attending other sixth forms and pursuing alternative career paths.
