Enrichment

We pride ourselves in enriching the lives of our post-16 students both academically and holistically, whilst ensuring they are fully equipped with life-long skills and knowledge to meet the challenges of Higher Education and the ever-evolving workplace.

Our holistic enrichment includes a range of different extra-curricular activities, designed to build employable skills and develop students’ confidence, empathy and independence.

Holistic development opportunities include:

  • Extended Project Qualification
  • Crest Award in STEM
  • Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award
  • National Citizenship Service

We also encourage our students to take on a volunteering placement to develop their empathy, as well as the soft skills desired by employers. Such placements include:

  • Coaching younger students
  • Reading mentors for Year 7
  • Maths lesson support for KS3
  • Peer subject tutoring
  • Library assistants

Being a smaller community means our students can take on lead roles in organising social and charity events. Such events include:

  • Social trip in term 1 to welcome our new cohort
  • Table tennis and 5-a-side football tournaments
  • Halloween movie night
  • Crochet club ran by Year 13
  • MacMillan Coffee Morning
  • ‘Cooking for Uni’ lessons
  • Christmas
  • Community litter pick
  • Christmas visit to a local care home
