The College Day

Students in the sixth form can expect to be taught by expert teachers in small groups where they will be supported and challenged to make rapid progress and meet exacting high standards.

Students will select THREE A-Levels to study. Each subject will have 6 lessons per week.

Students will also attend a daily tutor meeting. Each day has a new focus. This year our focus has been:

  • Monday: Well-being and SMSC
  • Tuesday: Mentoring and Careers
  • Wednesday: Volunteering
  • Thursday: Developing Oracy
  • Friday: Assembly and Interform quiz competition (alternate weeks)

Students will be timetabled three silent study periods per week to support their revision

They will also receive one lesson per week to deliver a carefully designed personal development curriculum, purposely planned with age-appropriate content to help prepare them for the wider world. Content is divided into five categories of focus.

  • Academic Endeavour
  • Respecting Diversity
  • Keeping yourself safe
  • Keeping each other safe
  • Preparation for the future
